(Reshare old post) Reference Check – 1

Integrity is a crucial trait for companies when evaluating candidates. Throughout my HR career, I’ve encountered instances where candidates failed to demonstrate integrity and consequently lost offers “permanently”. By “permanently”, I mean that a remark would be placed in their profile, alerting all HR that the candidate is not trustworthy.

Below are some experiences I’ve encountered:

1. Extending the duration of previous employment to conceal career breaks or periods of unemployment (I will discuss career breaks later in another section)

2. Falsifying educational qualifications

3. Fabricating job experience

4. Exaggerating current salary

Please don’t underestimate the hiring process. Typically, there should be a reference check and payslip varifications conducted. Avoiding detection during one instance does not validate dishonest behavior. It’s essential to confront reality and strive for continuous self-improvement.

See you all next time!
